[ARCHIVED] Business Robbery Investigation: Lee Hall Food Mart

Lee Hall robbery suspect

About 7:14 A.M. on July 27, 2017 Police Communications received a report of an armed robbery at the Lee Hall Food Mart in the 17400 block of Warwick Boulevard. Officers responded and were told that the suspect was a black male about 6’ tall with a thin build wearing a blue “leather like” baseball cap, red and black flannel long sleeve shirt, gray “Dickie type” work pants and a dark “towel” around his neck. The suspect was armed with a knife, entered the store, jumped the counter and robbed the store. He was last seen in a red van leaving the area southbound on Warwick Boulevard. There were no reported injuries. An undisclosed amount of cash was taken.

Anyone with information is asked to call Newport News Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP. Crime Line callers may remain totally anonymous, are never required to testify in court and could be eligible for a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest.
