On June 24, 2017 from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., Spike’s K9 Fund will be on-hand with volunteers and members of the Newport News Police Department to repair the Newport News Police K9 Obstacle Course. The event will feature a demonstration by members of the NNPD K9 Unit and chance to meet the dogs and their handlers.
Event donors will provide the supplies needed to build and repair the obstacles, but we are seeking volunteers who are interested in helping. The volunteers are not required to have any building experience, as we can use all skill levels. Food will be provided for all volunteers.
The event will be held at the NNPD K9 Kennels located at 100 City Farm Road in Newport News and is free and open to the public. The media is invited and encouraged to cover this exciting event.
