Cinco in the City

Newport News Parks, Recreation & Tourism is joining with City Center at Oyster Point and Sinclair Communications to present Cinco in the City, on Friday, May 5, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at City Center at Oyster Point.  This free event will feature music by Tumbao Salsero, food trucks, beverage sales (proceeds benefit local charities), face painting, and activities for all ages.


Tumbao Salsero consists of eleven band members that will keep your feet moving all night long with full Latin percussion such as timbales, congas, and bongos; two trumpets, two trombones, piano, bass guitar, and vocalists. Their repertoire includes Latin rhythms, including Salsa, Merengue, Guaguancó, Son Montuno, Jazz, Bomba, and Plena.


The following local food trucks will be on site selling a variety of food items:  Hawaiian Sno (shaved ice), Stuft (burritos), Tucanos Brazilian Grill (Brazilian), All in One Catering/Over the Moon Pizza (pizza), Pennsylvania Dutch Funnel Cake of Virginia (funnel cakes), and Poppa P 1971 (grilled cheese).


Admission and parking are free.
