[ARCHIVED] 03/07/2017 Woman Robbed in Parking Lot of Her Rental Office

On 3/7/2017 at 12:43 AM police responded to a parking lot in the 500 block of Purlieu Drive in reference to a robbery from individual. The victim, a 46 year-old Newport News woman, advised she arrived in the parking lot at about 12:30 AM and pulled into a parking spot near the rental office.  As she exited her vehicle, an unknown black male suspect "came out of nowhere" and yelled at her, to give up her purse.  The man also pointed a black gun at her. 

The man grabbed her purse as he ran away from the car around the east side of the building southbound on Woods Road. The purse contained cash, credit cards and personal identifications. The investigation is ongoing. The surveillance video shows the suspect and vehicle.
