Newport News Parks, Recreation & Tourism is joining with City Center at Oyster Point and Sinclair
Communications to present the City Center Shamrock, on Friday, March 17, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at City Center at Oyster Point. This free event will feature entertainment by Faol Liath, Glasgow Kiss, the Cumascaigh School of Irish Dance, and the Newport News Pipe & Drums. Corn hole and other activities for all ages will be available. Kids can enjoy free activities, including face painting. Prizes will be awarded for individuals and groups wearing the best St. Patrick’s Day theme outfits to the event.
The following local food trucks will be on site selling a variety of food items: Poppa P 1971 (grilled cheese), Chesapeake Concessions (crab cake sandwich, fried oreos, fried twinkies, fried pickles), Over the Moon Pizza (pizza, sausages, pretzels), Pop’s Kettle Corn (kettle corn, nachos), Kona Ice of Gloucester/York County (Hawaiian shaved ice), Mama Neem’s Mobile Seafood (seafood, burgers, hot dogs, wings), and Little Piggy’s Wurst Nightmare (BBQ, Philly cheese steak, hot dogs). Beverage sales proceeds benefit local charities.
Admission and parking are free. Blankets and chairs are welcomed, no outside alcoholic beverages allowed. Pets are not permitted in the event area. For additional information, call 757-926-1400.
