On November 14, 2016 at 8:20 AM officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Bailey Court in reference to a robbery that occurred minutes prior. The victim, a 60 year-old Newport News man, advised he was leaving Dollar Tree at 455 Oriana Road on foot when he notice three black males following him. At the intersection of Armistead Loop and Bailey Court two black males confronted the victim (one of the three had walked away) and ordered him to give up his wallet. The victim began to resist then noticed one man had a silver-colored automatic firearm. At that point the victim gave up his wallet containing cash, credit cards and Id’s.
The suspects are described as black males between the ages of 18-20, one 5`0"-5`2", of medium complexion with dark clothing. The other appeared to be in his early 20`s, 5`7"-5`10", of medium complexion with dark clothing and a silver handgun. The suspects left the area on foot in an unknown direction, possibly towards Denbigh Boulevard. Surveillance video shows the three suspects as they walked past the Dollar Tree prior to the robbery.
