[ARCHIVED] Water Outage for some York County Customers

Unfortunately, 412 of our York County customers are experiencing a water outage. The outage occurred this morning around 3 a.m. The water main break occurred in the Seaford area. We anticipate restoring service to our customers around 3pm today.
We will post to Facebook when service is restored. At that time when customers first use their water they may see discoloration or experience air in the house line. We recommend turning on the outside spigot or the faucet at the bath tub. The line should clear.
With the couple weeks of extreme hot weather (moisture is drawn from the ground) and the age of the pipe (installed in 1960), it is probable that the ground shifted enough to cause the break. Our crews have been on site and are diligently working to restore service. Sorry for this interruption in service.
