MARK YOUR CALENDAR:

The Newport News Police Department, in partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration, will participate in the National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on April 30, 2016 from 10 A.M. - 2 P.M.

If you have unused/unwanted prescription drugs in your medicine cabinet, the National Drug Take-Back Day event is the best option for safely discarding the medicine. During the event, officers will collect the medication and properly dispose of them, no questions asked. Medications that are not properly disposed of can pollute water supplies and cause harm to children, pets and others.

There will be three drop-off locations in Newport News:

3303 Jefferson Ave. Newport News, VA 23607

Sentara Port Warwick Hospital - Emergency Room (Front Parking Lot near Emergency Room)
1031 Loftis Blvd Newport News, VA 23606
