[ARCHIVED] Suspects Sought from Holiday Inn Express Robbery

On Thursday, March 10, 2016, at approximately 11:15 p.m., two male suspects entered the Holiday Inn Express located at 943 J. Clyde Morris Blvd. One of the suspects was armed with a firearm, approached the counter and demanded money. When the clerk, a 56-year-old Newport News woman, observed the man approaching the counter, she ran into the office and locked the door. The suspect with the firearm jumped over the counter and ransacked the drawers. The second suspect stayed near the entrance of the hotel and appeared to be acting as a lookout. Both suspects left the business without taking any money.

Suspect descriptions:

#1 – B/M, 5’7”-5’8”, dark complexion, thin build, 20-25 years of age, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, red mask, brown gloves, tan shoes and armed with a handgun

#2 – B/M, wearing all black clothing and white sneakers
