[ARCHIVED] Youth Programs Kickin’ For A Cause

Youth Programs is pleased and excited to announce our annual Kickin’ For A Cause fundraising program. Formerly known as Hoops for Hope, it is our second year kicking for a cause. This annual giving campaign targets a purpose and mission centered organization to partner with to give back to our community and to improve the quality of life for youth around the world.

This year we are excited to partner with, Parent’s Against Bullying (P.A.B.) in keeping with the Mayor’s initiative to End Bullying in Newport News. This local organization is making great strides in educating youth and adults on the effects of bullying and how prevention can decrease the damaging effects of bullying. The organization mission is to continuously expand their presence in the community increasing awareness through prevention programs and outreach. Funds will be used to assist the organization in developing curriculum and materials to be used as a reinforcement tool for large groups.

This annual fundraising campaign will run from February 1, 2016 until April 7, 2016 throughout our 21 locations and culminate with a kickball tournament at the Stoney Run Athletic Complex. Help us kick out bullying and declare Newport News a No Bully Zone. Monetary Donations will be collected at all of Youth Programs locations and the Newport News Parks, Recreation & Tourism Main Office (700 Town Center Drive, Suite 320).
