[ARCHIVED] CITY OFFICES TO CLOSE FOR THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY

All Newport News City offices will be closed on Thursday, November 26th and Friday, November 27th in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. This includes City Hall, City offices at City Center at Oyster Point, Newport News Waterworks' customer service offices, the Public Works Operations Center, and both locations of the Treasurer's and Commissioner of the Revenue's offices.

Newport News Public Libraries will also be closed on Thursday, November 26th and Friday, November 27th for the Thanksgiving holiday; however, they will observe normal operating hours Saturday and Sunday.

The Newport News Compost and Drop-Off Facility (i.e., the landfill) will be closed on Thursday, November 26th, Friday, November 27th, and Saturday, November 28th.

Garbage, recycling, and bulk waste collections that would normally take place on Thursday, November 26th, will take place on Friday, November 27th.
