[ARCHIVED] Second Bank Robbery Suspect Identified

The suspect involved in the October 23, 2015 robbery of the SunTrust Bank at 10814 Warwick Boulevard that was located and taken into custody shortly after the robbery has been charged in connection with the robbery. Christopher Xavier Burley, 22, of Williamsburg, is charged with one count each of robbery, entering a bank while armed, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, wearing a mask in certain places and two counts of conspiracy to commit a felony. Mr. Burley was placed in the custody of the Newport News City Jail. A booking photo will not be available at this time due to the ongoing investigation.

Twenty (20) year old Eric Tyrone Purvis Jr. has been identified as the second suspect in the Sun Trust Bank robbery of October 23, 2015. Warrants are on file for his arrest for robbery, entering a bank while armed, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, wearing a mask in certain places and two counts of conspiracy to commit a felony.

Eric Purvis Jr. is 6’ 4” tall, 245 lbs. with brown eyes and black hair. He should be considered armed and dangerous.
