About 2:45 P.M. on 5/20/15 police responded to the Microtel at 501 Operations Drive to a report of a robbery that was reported to have occurred in one of the rooms. The victim, a 21-year-old Newport News woman, told responding officers that she was in her room when there was a knock at the door. Thinking it was a maintenance worker she opened the door and sat on the bed. While sitting on the bed, the male suspect struck the victim in the head and face. The suspect was joined by a second suspect, female, who was armed with a handgun and threatened to shoot the victim if she didn’t hand over her property. The suspects took several items from the victim including cash, cell phone and other property.
Suspect one was described as a black male, in his early 20s, 5’5” tall and weighing between 120 to 140 pounds. The female suspect (2) was described as a black female in her early 20s, about 5’5” tall and weighing between 120 and 140 pounds. The third(3)suspect, a light skin black female, never entered the room.
