[ARCHIVED] Double Shooting Leaves One Man Dead

About 4:00 P.M. on April 19, 2015, medics were in the area of the 600 block of Dresden Drive on a totally unrelated matter when they heard gunshots. They immediately notified Police Communications and began looking for victims. At 4:02 P.M. they notified Communications they had located two victims. Both victims were transported to a local hospital. A 20-year-old Hampton man was pronounced deceased at the hospital. A 25-year-old Newport News man has what appears to be a non-life threatening injury.

The surviving victim told police that he was walking in the area when he heard gunshots and was shot.

Even though there were a number of people in the area at the time of the shooting, detectives have been unable to locate anyone that will say they witnessed the shooting or that will provide information regarding the shooting or possible suspect(s).

At this time, there is no suspect information available.

The deceased victim is identified as Trenton Huffman, 20, of the 100 block of Wells Court in Hampton.
