Celebrate the Opening of City Center Boulevard from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2015. Following an official ribbon cutting at 11:00 a.m., you can walk, run, ride your bike, skateboard, or skate on the unopened road. Kids can make free spring-theme crafts, play games for prizes, and meet the Bunny (parents can take photos). Newport News public safety vehicles will be on display in the “Touch a Truck” area and Newport News Police Department’s four-legged recruit Lacey the Bloodhound will greet her fans. Family fun includes dancing the Bunny Hop to popular hits by the DJ, riding giant “Wacky Trikes,” and enjoying free popcorn.
The Celebration will be held at the intersection of Nat Turner Drive and City Center Boulevard. Parking is available in Port Warwick. City Center Boulevard will open to regular traffic on the evening on April 4th.
