Carjacking

Newport News Police are investigating a carjacking that occurred in the 500 block of J. Clyde Morris Boulevard during a test drive of a private vehicle.

On March 15, 2015, at 1:35 PM a 30 year-old Newport News man was accompanying two males on a test drive of his vehicle. While driving down J. Clyde Morris Boulevard, one of the men produced a handgun and demanded the victim’s personal property. The suspects then forced the victim from his vehicle and left him on the side of the roadway on the J. Clyde Morris Boulevard overpass. The stolen vehicle is a black 1998 Cadillac Deville bearing Virginia tags VBP5807 (photo attached). At that time of the theft, the Cadillac had “$3,000 OBO” written on the back window. The Cadillac has not been recovered.

A third suspect was last seen following the Cadillac in a silver Chevrolet Impala, 2005-2010, with a donut spare tire on the front passenger side.

#1 – Black male, mid-30s, 5’8”-6’0”, medium build, full beard, medium complexion, teardrop tattoo under left eye, last seen wearing multi-colored pants and black shirt
#2 – Black male, 16-20 years of age, 5’9”-5’10”, thin build, last seen wearing a grey coat or hoodie; armed with black semi-automatic handgun with an extended magazine
#3 – Black male, no further description; operating a silver Chevrolet Impala, 2005-2010, donut spare tire on front passenger side
