City of Newport News Juneteenth 2023 logo

Mark your calendars as the City of Newport News commemorates history and celebrates freedom with two Juneteenth events. Join us on June 12 at 1 p.m. in front of City Hall as we raise the Juneteenth flag in recognition of the end of slavery in the United States. Then come out to King-Lincoln Park on June 19 from 12 p.m. - 5 p.m. for the Freedom Festival, a free community event featuring musical entertainment, food and craft vendors, informational exhibits, and children’s activities.
