Take notice that the Newport News City Council will consider an ordinance to relocate Huntington Voting Precinct Voters, at their regularly scheduled meeting on March 28, 2023 at 7 PM. The meeting will be held in the Newport News City Council Chambers, 2400 Washington Avenue, Newport News, Virginia 23607.
The proposed change is to relocate Huntington Precinct Voters to the Washington Precinct. Huntington Voters living North of 39th Street will be relocated to the Newsome Park Precinct. This relocation is required due to the abolishment of the Doris Miller Community Center.
The other proposed change is to move the precinct boundary line of the Washington Precinct, North of 39th Street and relocate a small portion of Washington Voters to Newsome Park Precinct. This proposal will also increase the number of voters in Newsome Park Precinct.
