[ARCHIVED] CARES ACT FUNDS AVAILABLE

GETTING BACK ON TRACK!  WE KNOW THIS YEAR HAS BEEN A DIFFICULT ONE!

Newport News Waterworks has been awarded CARES ACT monies to assist our utility customers impacted by COVID-19 from March 1 to December 30.

We need you to act quickly as the federal government is requiring monies to be used by January 29, 2021.

Please call us at (757) 926-1000 or email us at wwcs@nnva.gov for more details.  When emailing, please use in your email subject “Request for CARES Assistance”.  If you have previously been provided any CARES ACT funds for a specific water utility bill you are not eligible to receive funding for the same bill. Other bills not paid may be eligible.

Regular hours are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm and beginning Tuesday, 12/15, our call center will have extended hours to assist our customers.  (See schedule below)

Please act now to receive assistance.  This is on a first come-first served basis.  We are here for you! Claim your share of $3.2 million. Form available here

You can also call to set up installment payments:

Due to the unprecedented circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, shutoffs for non-payment have been temporarily suspended since March 2020 to ensure all customers could count on having water at their homes and businesses regardless of their financial situation. During these challenging times, Waterworks has offered installment plans to help customers stay current with the amounts owed on their account.

We strongly encourage you to call us at (757) 926-1000 or contact us through email at wwcs@nnva.gov so we can assist you with a plan of action to get your account back on track.  We are here for you and want to avoid any future water shut offs when the suspension is eventually lifted. When contacting us, please be ready to tell us what payments you can commit to your past due balance; to remain eligible on the installment plan, new bills will need to be kept current (i.e., paid on time and in full).

An installment plan can get your account back on track!  Additionally, our representatives have resources they can refer you to for further financial assistance.  Please contact us today!  Our business hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Stay Safe and Healthy!

Warmest Regards,

Your Waterworks Customer Service Team
