Christmas Holiday
Newport News City offices, including public libraries and the Citizen’s Drop-Off and Compost Facility (landfill), located at 550 Atkinson Way, will be close at noon on Wednesday, December 24th and remain closed on Thursday, December 25th and Friday, December 26th for the Christmas holiday.
Garbage, recycling and bulk waste collections for the week of Christmas will take place as follows:
- Monday through Wednesday’s collections will take place as scheduled
- Thursday’s collections will take place on Friday
New Year’s Holiday
Newport News City offices, including public libraries and the landfill, will be closed on Thursday, January 1st and Friday, January 2nd for the New Year’s holiday.
Garbage, recycling and bulk waste collections for the week of New Year’s Day will take place as follows:
- Monday through Wednesday’s collections will take place as scheduled
- Thursday’s collections will take place on Friday
