Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a psychiatric disorder that can occur in people who have experienced or witnessed a traumatic event such as a natural disaster, a serious accident, a terrorist act, war/combat, rape or other violent personal assault.
Facilitated by a member of the Optima EAP Clinical Team, this 2-hour course provides an overview of PTSD to help those who may be experiencing it, as well as those who wish to support others who have the condition. The discussion will address common misconceptions about PTSD and explore its prevalence. Participants will also learn more about the causes, symptoms and treatment options for PTSD.
