[ARCHIVED] Violent Suspect Apprehended - 21 Charges Filed

Earl Dontia Wiggins, a 30-year-old-man of the 200 block of Pacific Drive in Hampton and the suspect in a series of violent crimes was apprehended in Newport News on the morning of March 8, 2019, by the Newport News Police Department Fugitive Apprehension Unit and the U.S. Marshals Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force.

Mr. Wiggins was wanted out of three jurisdictions including Newport News, Hampton, and Suffolk. The charges out of Newport News stem from an incident involving an adult female in May 2018 and to charges stemming from an incident with an adult female in October 2018.

“Due to the coordinated efforts of multiple divisions within the Newport News Police Department along with our federal partners, and the community, we were able to apprehend Mr. Wiggins without incident. It is a relief to all involved in both cases to have him in custody and hopefully will help bring some closure to the victims and their families,” said Chief Steve Drew.

(11) PROBATION: VIOLATION ON FELONY OFFENSE.
(12) CONSPIRACY TO COMMIT FELONY (x2).
