To celebrate the dedication of the Four Oaks Day Service Center, the City of Newport News, Volunteers of America Chesapeake, Virginia Career Works - Greater Peninsula, and the Virginia Employment Commission are hosting a Job Fair on Tuesday, March 5, 2019. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the new Four Oaks Day Service Center at 7401 Warwick Boulevard. The Job Fair is free and open to the public.
During the event, a variety of employers will be on-site sharing information on current job openings and will be accepting resumes from job seekers. Participating employers include Amazon, Top Guard Security, Waste Management, Walmart Distribution Center, McDonald's, Trace Staffing, Smithfield Foods, Newport News Waterworks, MasterCorp, Assemblers Incorporated and PeopleReady.
The Job Fair will pause briefly at 11:00 a.m. for the dedication of the Four Oaks Day Service Center. Four Oaks supports homeless adults and families by helping them transition into employment, stable housing and independence. Services at Four Oaks include workforce development training, housing assistance, veterans services, health services, and case management supports. The community is invited to the dedication ceremony and to tour the facility.
