[ARCHIVED] NNPD to Host Virtual "Chat with the Chief" Events

FacebookLive2

This week, the Newport News Police Department will hold two “Chat with the Chief” Facebook Live sessions.

On Tuesday, October 23, 2018 from Noon-1 p.m. and then again on Thursday, October 25, 2018 from 6 p.m. – 7 p.m., Chief of Police Steve Drew will be participating in a Facebook Live event on the Newport News Police Department’s Facebook page.

During the events, Chief Drew will share information about recent changes within the department, crime trends, and more. Citizens will have the opportunity to ask questions and get answers straight from Chief Drew.

Citizens who would like to join the “Chat with the Chief” events can sign on to Facebook and visit the Newport News Police Department’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/NewportNewsPoliceDept to participate.

“I’m looking forward to connecting with our Facebook followers during these first “Chat with a Chief” events. I hope citizens will join us and learn more about the vision for our agency, some of the changes we’ve recently made, and our crime reduction. I look forward to chatting with everyone.”

Chief Drew joined the Newport News Police Department in July 2018 and these events will be his first Facebook Live “Chat with the Chief” since joining the department. We plan to hold virtual events like these on a regular basis and give the public a chance to ask questions and hear directly from Chief Drew.

We hope the media and the community will take this opportunity to get to know Chief Drew and ask questions.
