[ARCHIVED] Newport News Human Services Advisory Board Hosts Town Hall Meeting

Every youth is at risk for difficulties in their lives whether at home, at school, or in the community. They may be faced with bullying, possible gang involvement, harassment, or considering dropping out of school, or dealing with other stressors.

The Newport News Human Services Advisory Board is hosting a Town Hall meeting on November 13, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The event will be held at South Morrison Family Education Center, 746 Adams Drive, Newport News, VA 23601.

Local experts in youth development, community activism, law enforcement and education/drop-out prevention will offer their insights about resources available to help youth to succeed and resist negative influences in their lives.

Just prior to the Town Hall, there will be the time to talk with local community resource providers, and network with other citizens and parents. There will also be the opportunity to meet the new Director of Human Services, Venerria Thomas.
