At 6:36 P.M. September 21, 2017 police and medics responded to a report of a shooting in the area of Deputy Lane. Upon arriving, officers located two male gunshot victims. Marvin Gordon, 18 of the 300 Block of Circuit Lane in Newport News who was pronounced deceased at the scene. The second victim, a 16-year-old Newport News male was taken to a local hospital by medics with what is believed to be life threatening injuries and remains hospitalized.
The investigation remains ongoing. Detectives continue to conduct interviews. There is no suspect information to release at this time. The community has been cooperating with police in the investigation. Any updates will be provided as they become available.
