Virginia Living Museum Expands Thursday Hours

Summer Nights Every Thursday at the VLM until 8 p.m.

The Virginia Living Museum is expanding its hours on Thursdays beginning June 1 and continuing through August 31. Stay until 8 p.m. and enjoy live VLMlogo_scmusic, canoeing, animal encounters, and family-friendly activities. Take in a walk and a learning lab from our "Naturally Speaking: Summer Family Series," or stroll along the outdoor trail where animals roam until 7:30 p.m. Grab dinner at the Wild Side Cafe with special family dining options. Bring a blanket and enjoy your meal picnic-style in the Conservation Garden surrounded by music and the great outdoors.

Some of the special activities include:
• Live Music - A mix of music at the Conservation Garden. Cost: Included in museum admission
• Canoeing on Deer Park Lake - Canoeing launches from the dock adjacent to Children’s Learning Garden. Cost: Included in museum admission
• Human Hamster Balls –Pretend to be a hamster in the human hamster balls! June 1 to July 6 you can find the Hamster Balls outside in the Conservation Garden and then moved to the Changing Exhibit Gallery for the remainder of the Summer Thursdays. Cost: $5 in addition to general admission.
