Get creative this summer at the Downing Gross

Cultural Arts Center with family visual arts workshops, fashion workshops, and African visual arts workshops in July and August. Participants ages 5 and up can create a different project each week while learning the fundamentals of art in the family visual arts workshops. The workshops are held Saturdays starting July 1 through August 19 from 10 a.m. until noon. The cost is $5 per workshop for a family of four.
Ever had a dream of becoming a fashion designer? For a cost of $25 learn more about fashion design and sewing in just eight sessions. On Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. learn the basics of sewing while exploring the fashion world.

Classes begin July 5 and are open to participants ages 10 and up.
Every Wednesday in August participants ages 11 and older can create mixed media art inspired by celebrated African American artist. Classes start August 2 and run from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The cost is $20 for the full series of classes or $5 for a drop in class.
