In 2008, Amtrak started National

Train Day as a way to spread information about the advantages of railway travel and the history of trains in the United States. Now in its ninth year, National Train Day is a coast-to-coast celebration of America’s love of railroading. Get on board with the Friends of the Lee Hall Depot at their annual Train Day Show Saturday, May 13 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Denbigh Community Center.
The event features operating model train layouts in all scales, door prizes every 30 minutes, raffles, vendors who will have railroad memorabilia for train lovers. Kids of all ages can enjoy costumed Rail Road characters, a rideable kids engine, and a boxcar of fun activities. The event is free and open to the public.
