In an ongoing effort to provide positive, alternative activities for youth, the Department of Human Services is offering a series of art-related classes for young people 8-12 years old that focus on improving self-awareness and enhancing self-esteem. Funded by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Community Based Violence Prevention grant, during the workshops, “All About Me,” youth will use different forms of creative self-expression to identify how they see themselves and how they think others perceive them.
The free classes will be held April 27th, May 11th and May 25th, from 4:30-5:30 PM at South Morrison Family Education Center, 746 Adams Drive. Youth can attend any or all workshops just by registering at least five days in advance. Class size is limited to the first 20 youth. Please contact Ms. Kimberly Wilder at 369-6838 or
kwilder@nnva.gov to RSVP for each workshop the child wishes to attend.
