Toshocon takes place at Main Street Library for teens 12 to 17
Back by popular demand, the Newport News Public Library System is hosting ToshoCon Anime Convention on Saturday, April 22 at Main Street Library, 110 Main Street, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is free and open to teens ages 12 to 17.

This annual event, now in its fourth year, draws hundreds of teens to the Library and offers a wide variety of activities, including screenings, crafts, workshops, dance, music, and a photo booth. Food and comic related items are available for purchase.
In addition to the many activities taking place at the convention, enjoy a video game competition, a rock-paper-scissors tournament, an Instagram photo contest, and a cosplay contest. For the cosplay contest, teens are encouraged to dress as their favorite sci-fi, fantasy and gaming characters and compete for the chance to win prizes. Participants interested in competing in the contest should preregister online at
www.nnpls.libguides.com/cosplayregistration. Although the contest is only open to ages 12-17, all ages are welcome to watch the competition.
