Residents and motorists are advised that HRSD will begin milling and paving operations on Boxley Boulevard starting Monday, April 17. Work begins

westbound near Warwick Boulevard, moving toward Menchville Road. Construction takes place between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday – Friday. Drivers will have access to Boxley Boulevard in both directions at a reduced capacity during construction. The work is anticipated to take about 10 days to complete, but is weather dependent.
Milling and paving work is also scheduled for both sides of Menchville Road from the Menchville High school property line to Boxley Road, beginning the following week, Monday, April 24. Construction begins 7:30 a.m. and ends at 2 p.m. Monday – Friday. Motorists can still access Menchville Road under a flagging operation while the work is going on. This project should also take about 10 days to complete, subject to weather.
The construction is a part of the Sanitary Sewer Pipeline Replacement Project, which is scheduled for completion in October. The project costs $8 million to install approximately 10,300 linear feet of sanitary sewer pipe and valves to replace pipeline built in 1970s. The new installation reduces the likelihood of a pipeline failure, improves system operation, increases capacity and enhances HRSD’s ability to protect public health and the environment for decades to come.
