The Newport News Parks, Recreation and Tourism’s Youth Programs is hosting its “Spring Fling” spring break camp again this year. The programs offers a safe and fun environment for youth during their time out of school. Campers are spending the week playing laser tag, creating various crafts, participating in different STEM projects, and sports activities.

The programs run April 3-7 for Newport News Public Schools and April 13-21 for Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Parents can bring children daily as early as 6 a.m. and pick them up as late as 6:30 p.m. from Brittingham-Midtown Community Center or Denbigh Community Center. Early registration is being offered for $22 per day/per child until March 19. Regular registration starts March 20 with a daily rate of $27 for each child.
The camp is also being offered at Doris Miller Community Center for children ages 8-12 from April 3-7. Parents can drop children off beginning at 7 a.m. and pick them up as late as 5 p.m. The cost for the Doris Miller camp is $25 for the week per child. Registration for all camps are open online at
