City Manager Jim Bourey Resigns

Assistant City Manager Cindy Rohlf named Acting City Manager

During a special meeting of the Newport News Rohlf-scCity Council on Tuesday, March 7, City Manager Jim Bourey tendered his resignation effective immediately. City Council unanimously accepted it and named Assistant City Manager Cindy Rohlf Acting City Manager until a permanent replacement can be found. Under the terms of his resignation, Bourey will receive a severance package of six months’ salary and car allowance totaling roughly $116,250. Rohlf has been an Assistant City Manager in Newport News since 2008, having previously served the City of Suffolk for 20 years.
