The Woman's Club of Newport News is a women's organization dedicated to community improvement through volunteer service. Founded in 1911, the Club has provided support for a variety of projects such as the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen,

Tori's Closet, Achievable Dream and the Newport News Healthy Families Initiative.
Recently, the Woman’s Club of Newport News hosted a baby shower for the families who participate in the Newport News Healthy Families Initiative’s home visitation program. The President of the Woman’s Club of Newport News, Susie Mowry, along with over a hundred members, worked all year to raise funds to buy baby presents for expectant and new families in need. The Woman’s Club provided items such baby diapers, baby clothes, and numerous beautifully hand-knitted hats, outfits and blankets. The Woman’s Club also provided sixteen brand new Pack-N-Play cribs for newborns to help reduce Sudden Infant Death Syndrome cases in Newport News and promote safe sleep for babies.
The dedication and support of the Woman’s Club of Newport News has made and continues to make a difference in the lives of families in the city.
