One City Marathon Volunteer Count

The results for the final volunteer report just came in andVol_SC we want to highlight a few amazing numbers! Last year the volunteer count was 639 with approximately 3,800 hours, and a monetary value of $93,632. This year One City Marathon had 834 volunteers with approximately 4,800 hours, and a monetary value of almost $120,000!

There were volunteer participants from the US Navy, US Army, US Air Force, US Coast Guard, Peninsula Medical Reserve Corps, Norfolk Medical Reserve Corp, Western Tidewater Medical Reserve Corps, Air National Guard, several city departments, Woodside High School, Epes Elementary School and Heritage High School.

Volunteers from the private sector over the weekend included: NNS, Riverside, Rotary Club of NN, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., Rotary Club of City Center, Ferguson, Nostra, ARES/RACES, Jack & Jill of America, Inc., 7 Cities Divaz, Peninsula Bicycling Association, Harvest Land Ministries International, NNRHA –Aqueduct Apts., Spouses Club of Ft. Eustis, Va. Peninsula Rotary Club, Navy Federal Credit Union, Dozoretz National Institute For Math and Applied Science, Communities of Hope and Peninsula Powerhouse Speakers Club (Toastmasters).
