Free Event also offers Resource Fair
Cities United, the faith community, and the City of Hampton will host the 2nd regional convening entitled “
The Urgency of Now: Disrupting the Culture of Violence” on February 15-16, at the Hampton Roads Convention Center. This free event will engage youth, parents, schools, public safety, higher education, professional management, businesses, faith community and elected officials to examine the way communities think, feel and respond to violence.
The event’s opening session begins at 5:30 PM with a conversation entitled “We Are All in This Together” between the faith-based community, citizens, and national figures. The discussion will also include panelists and presenters who will share information with the Hampton Roads community on national initiatives that address youth violence and black male achievement.
Following this conversation, a resource fair will be held from 6:30 PM -8:30 PM. The resource fair will raise awareness about resources available for youth and young adults in the community, recruit committed volunteers, and allow concerned citizens the opportunity to directly connect with organizations that support positive outcomes for youth.
The community dialogue and resource fair are free and open to the public. Although registration is not required, please visit
