Registration prices going up soon

In just 50 days on March 12th, the 3rd Annual One City Marathon will take place in Newport News. Starting in Newport News Park in the north part of the City, the course will travel the length of Newport News, through residential and business areas alongside throngs of cheering supporters for 26.2 miles, finishing at the Newport News Victory Arch. OCMribbons_SCThe Marathon is a point to point course and has been certified as a Boston Marathon Qualifier.

And, that’s not all! There is the also the Marathon Relay – a 2-4 person marathon relay, the Maritime 8k – which is also a certified course, and the Nautical Mile – 1.15 miles for young and old alike. All of this will be followed by the One City, One Celebration in Victory Landing Park.

However, time is running out to get into the race with reduced registration fees. As of February 16, 2017, the rates go up for all of the races – The 26.2 mile Marathon, the Marathon Relay, the Maritime 8k and the Nautical Mile.

To assist with online registration and answer any marathon questions, a representative from the race team will be in the City Hall lobby, 2400 Washington Avenue, on January 25th & 26th and February 8th & 9th from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Reps will also be available in the City Center Lobby at 700 Town Center Drive on February 1st & 2nd and February 15th & 16th from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. As a special incentive to sign up for one of the races, every 50th person registering at both locations will receive a second registration free! Register and join the FUN!
