According to the Virginia Department of Emergency Management, for any
weather-related emergency, make sure you have an updated emergency kit
equipped with flashlights, a first aid kit, a 3-day supply of food and water, and more. Make a family plan
that establishes meeting places, designates emergency contacts and records medical information to prepare for any emergency.
It is important that you stay informed. Listen to local media for weather-related information and instructions from emergency officials. You can also download the Ready Virginia app for your mobile device. The app is free for iPhone®
