Kids Pajama Party and Family Holiday Concert

Posted on December 27, 2016 at 8:21 AM by Communications Department

Sometimes during the holidays it’s the little things in the life of a child that gives the greatest joy; the Christmas tree, Christmas music, the lights all aglow, cookies baking in the oven and a new pair of pajamas.
Thanks to an alliance between Carter’s & Oshkosh B’Gosh Children Wear store located in the Tech Center and the South Morrison Family Education Center Youth Partnership, 460 pajamas for infants and children were donated for a recently held Kids Pajama Party and Family Holiday Concert. The Youth Partnership is a collaboration between the Department of Human Services, the Newport News Public Library, Newport News Public Schools and Big Brothers Big Sisters of The Virginia Peninsula.

Santa and Mrs. Claus gave 250 attending the party a stuffed animal or Lego game and then sent them to pick up their pajamas from Carter’s store Manager, Megan and Assistant Manager Casey, and the Partnership staff. Those unable to attend were able to receive their pajamas early.

Holiday music was provided by the Heritage High Choir while guests enjoyed pizza, cookies, the Snowball game and more.

Carter’s & Oshkosh B'Gosh is a partner with the Pajama Program, a national 501(c)(3) organization that provides new PJs and books to children in need, many waiting and hoping to be adopted. Carter’s has joined the nationwide One Million Good Nights initiative to collect 1 million new PJs and books for children in need by the end of the year.
