Free Ambassador Pass for Newport News Residents

Residents Admitted Free to All Attractions

The City of Newport News is encouraging its residents and employees to be “visitors” in their hometown with the Newport News Ambassador Pass 27489-NNTDO_Eblast_AmbassadorPass_SCprogram. Now in its 18th year, the program provides pass-holders with an opportunity to learn more about the wealth of activities available in Newport News so the information can be shared with visiting friends and family. The Ambassador Pass allows residents to receive free one-time admission to seven city attractions, valid for two adults and two children.

Ambassador Passes will be honored at the following attractions each week throughout the month of January:
  • January 2-8, 2017 Peninsula Fine Arts Center and the Virginia Living Museum 
  • January 9-15, 2017 Lee Hall Mansion and Virginia War Museum 
  • January 16-22, 2017 The Mariners’ Museum and Park 
  • January 23-29, 2017 Endview Plantation and Peninsula SPCA & Petting Zoo 
To request a pass, visit The Newport News Visitor Center located at Newport News Park and show proof of current residency or city employment. The passes will be available for pickup from 9 AM to 5 PM daily beginning Monday, Dec. 19. Please note that on Christmas Eve, the Visitor Center closes at 1 PM. and it will be closed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. The passes can also be picked up between 8 AM and 5 PM. from the Parks, Recreation and Tourism office in City Center at Oyster Point, 700 Town Center Drive, Suite 320, and from the City Manager’s Office at City Hall, 2400 Washington Ave., 10th floor. These two offices will be closed Dec. 23-26 and Jan. 2. Passes will be available at the three locations for the duration of the program, which ends Jan. 29, 2017.

City residents and employees are also encouraged to visit the free attractions – The Newsome House Museum & Cultural Center, Downing-Gross Cultural Arts Center, the U.S. Army Transportation Museum, and all of the City’s parks – while exploring Newport News.
