Do You Know Where Your Middle Schooler Is?

If your child is a Newport News middle school student, with your permission (and signed permission slip) you can know exactly where they will be on Saturday April 22-23rd. The Newport News Mayor’s Youth Commission will host a middle school lock-in at the Brittingham-Midtown Community Center from 9:00 PM. to 6:00 AM. In typical “lock-in” style, after 11:00 PM, no one will be permitted to enter or leave the building. 4-8 middleschool_SCHowever, attendees will have plenty to do! There will be a dance party, laser tag, movies, games and group activities. The event is free.

Permission slips to attend must be returned to Shawn O’Keefe no later than 5:00 PM April 15th at 746 Adams Drive, 23601, faxed to 757-369-6839 or emailed to sokeefe@nnva.gov .

Sponsored by the Mayor’s Youth Commission, NN Human Services, Sheriff’s Department, Alternatives, Inc., and NN Parks and Recreation, NNPS, and Donatos, the event is funded in part through the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) Community Based Violence Prevention Grant.
