The 20th Annual Mayflower Marathon, November 18 – 20, is the largest food and fund drive to help fill foodbank shelves for the holidays. The Marathon will start Friday, November 18 at 5:30 PM and end Sunday, November 20 at 3:00 PM. All donations

benefit the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank and the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore. The Peninsula drop-off location is Coliseum Marketplace in Coliseum Central, 2170 Coliseum Drive in Hampton all weekend November 18 – 20 in the parking lot near Sports Authority.
To make it even more convenient to participate, you can just drive through and drop off your donation without having to get out of your vehicle. Volunteers will be available to offload your donations of non-perishable food items and frozen turkeys. Monetary donations are also accepted. Staff and volunteers will be out all weekend collecting food and monetary donations. $20 gets you a long sleeve T-shirt while supplies last.
What to donate (**Most Needed Items):

Frozen Turkeys, Hams and all of the traditional sides
Lean Canned Protein – **peanut butter, **tuna, **chicken, turkey, beans
Fruits and Vegetables – **canned fruits and **vegetables, pasta sauce, 100% fruit juice, fruit preserves, dried fruit
Whole Grains – cereal, pasta, oatmeal, **family size box rice, crackers
Meals – soups, stews, boxed meals, **canned pasta

Donate Online. For every $10 donated the Foodbank can provide 40 meals to children, seniors and families in need. The generosity from the community will make a huge impact and a meaningful difference so that individuals living in food insecure homes can have a brighter holiday and live a healthier life.
