The November 18th application deadline for the 2017 Cultural Attractions Fund grants supporting local non-profit, 501(c)(3) organizations is quickly approaching.

The grant is open to non-profits who provide cultural arts activities, programs, events and/or services that are easily accessible to Newport News residents and whose costs can be documented. The funds are intended to serve as a financial safety net to help with the ongoing viability of the local cultural assets.
Created by the City Council three years ago, Cultural Attractions Fund provides operational and/or project support to local cultural arts entities adversely impacted by the continued effects of the economic recession. The City of Newport News recognizes that a strong cultural presence adds to the quality of life in our community and enhances our ability to attract and retain businesses and residents.
More information and grant applications are available on the
City's website.
