If you are a Newport News resident without health insurance, a traditional pharmacy benefit plan, or have prescriptions not covered by insurance, you can receive savings on your prescriptions.

The City of Newport News in collaboration with The National League of Cities is offering a FREE Prescription Discount Card program to help citizens save money on the high cost of prescription medications. Residents can save an average of 24% off prescriptions by using the discount program card at over 68,000 retail pharmacies nationwide. The card also covers some pet prescriptions. My Healthy Hometown program is NOT insurance but will help with prescriptions that are not covered by insurance.
You can
print your own card online or pick one up at the City Manager’s or Communications Office in City Hall, 2400 Washington Avenue, 10th floor. For more information and to find a pharmacy, go to www.caremark.com/nlc or call toll-free at 1-888-620-1749.
