Hampton Roads Transit Adopt-A-Spot

Posted on October 18, 2016 at 8:48 AM by Communications Department

Almost everyone is familiar with the Virginia Department of Transportation’s Adopt-A-Stop program, but did you know that you can adopt a Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) bus stop for clean-up too? The Adopt-A-Stop program is a litter reduction and prevention initiative sponsored by HRT for its 3,500 stops throughout Hampton Roads.

Keeping up with litter around these stops can be a tremendous challenge. In fact, HRT collects trash at only around 7% of its highest volume stops. Through volunteerism, residential and community organizations, businesses, groups, clubs and individuals can help maintain a litter free environment at the bus stops.

All HRT transit stops are available for adoption for a minimum period of one year. If you are ready to start making a sustainable contribution to the community, click here to submit your Application online

For questions about the program, please contact HRT Engineering & Facilities Department or 757-222-6100. For general information about the program please visit the HRT Adopt-A-Spot site.

Support your community and partner with HRT by adopting a stop today!
