The Newport News Department of Public Works maintains over 1,500 lane miles of roadways throughout the city. Every year the division reconstructs and resurfaces a number of city streets based on priority needs and available funding. Work has already begun on the Spring 2016 Street Reconstruction and Resurfacing Program. Streets identified for this year’s program include

portions of McKinley, Rexford, Blair, 25th, 12th, Madison, Cameron, Hermitage, Montclare, Idlewood, Carleton, Edgemoore, June, Cottage, Woodcreek, Orcutt, 77th, 76th, 74th, Venetia, Cremona, Clifton, Vista and Darden.
