Newport News Revitalization Forum
On September 14th from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in collaboration with the City of Newport News and the Southeast CARE Coalition are hosting a forum at Downing-Gross Cultural Arts Center. The forum is a free event, however, but interested participants must register by midnight on Saturday, September 10, at the Newport News
Revitalization Forum web site.

Through panel discussions, speakers will discuss the local context and explore best practices, lessons learned, resources, funding opportunities and ideas to promote and implement revitalization in areas such as the Southeast Community. A networking forum immediately following will give attendees the opportunity to meet resource partners such as foundations and explore many of the opportunities discussed throughout the day.
The forum is a part of the
U.S. EPA’s Making a Visible Difference in Communities Initiative, which focuses on supporting communities, especially in environmentally overburdened, underserved and economically distressed areas. The goal of the forum is to provide an opportunity where City, Community, State and Federal leaders can discuss challenges and opportunities in the community.
