The Newport News Public Art Foundation is dedicated
to helping make Newport News an appealing place to live, work, and visit by placing monumental-scale works of art by respected sculptors throughout the city where people can enjoy. Now, citizens and visitors in Newport News can take a personal tour of the Newport News Public Art Foundation’s sculptures with the artists as their guide. Google Play Store and hear the artists, in their own words, talk about their work, why and how they made it, and what they’d like you to see in it.
The tour, which features nearly three dozen works of art, can also be followed by the recently updated Art & Sculpture Tour brochure matching each artwork to a number on a map of Newport News. All of the sculptures are easily accessible, with many clustered around major attractions. Plus, GPS coordinates are available for each to make finding its exact location a cinch.
