On Sunday, August 14, Newport News Mayor McKinley Price is joining Congressman Robert C. “Bobby” Scott, State Senator Mamie Locke, and Delegate Marcia “Cia” Price for a Community Town Hall and Fair at Heritage High School, 5800 Marshall Avenue. Organized by Delegate Price and open to the public, the event begins at 3:00 PM with a legislative update and town hall in the auditorium where elected officials will give updates on federal, state, and local initiatives that are impacting the community. In addition, local high school students will talk about ways they wish to seek change.

Citizens are encouraged to attend and will have the opportunity to get questions answered as well as provide feedback on constructive solutions concerning the issues that are important to the community. “I look forward to a productive conversation about the great things happening in Newport News and opportunities for citizens to be more involved,” said Mayor Price.
Following the town hall, a community fair is scheduled to be held in the gym that includes 50 resource exhibitors with empowering information about services and programs in the community. Youth can also enjoy face-painting, a moon bounce, games, and free school supplies. For more information, please visit
